Climate Action Plan

On December 12, 2022, City Council adopted the 2022 Climate Action Plan (CAP). The CAP outlines key actions the City will take to reduce community-wide greenhouse gas emissions and prepare our community for the impacts of climate change. These actions will have a wide range of co-benefits for Shoreline, such as cleaner air and water, greater ecosystem health, and potential cost savings from lower utility bills.

2025 Year in Review

This third Year in Review shares how City Council, City staff, and the Shoreline community came together in 2025 to advance Shoreline’s climate goals. Highlights include:

• Expanding Energize Shoreline, a home electrification program
• Increasing composting at multifamily properties through incentives and education
• Helping community members plant and care for trees at their homes through our Communi-trees program
• Launching Pedal Foward Shoreline, an electric bike distribution program that helped residents reduce how often they use their cars

What's in the CAP?

The strategies and actions in the 2022 CAP were designed to support and advance Shoreline’s three main goals. Shoreline will achieve these three main goals by carrying out 90 actions across five focus areas.
