The design consultant, KPFF, submitted 100% design plans to the City on May 4, 2026. The City will have one month to review the plans and provide comments back to KPFF to address. Once all the comments are addressed, the City will begin preparing the project for advertisement and accepting bid proposals. Construction is likely to begin in summer or fall of 2026.

Project Overview

The 19th Avenue NE Sidewalk Project will construct sidewalk on the west side of 19th Avenue NE and sidewalk and curb ramp improvements at the major intersections between NE 196th Street and 244th Street SW (NE 205th Street).

This project is part of the 2018 voter-approved effort to build and repair sidewalks throughout Shoreline.

Project improvements include:

Pedestrian facilities with curbs and gutters
Curb ramps
Drainage improvements

Project Timeline

Preliminary Design: Summer/Fall/Winter 2024
Final Design: Mid 2025
Construction: Summer 2026

Tree Impacts

We are early in the design process but anticipate that this project may impact up to 10 trees based on an arborist assessment of the trees in the project area.
