Project Overview

This project will construct new sidewalks, curb ramps, and associated drainage improvements at the following locations:  

  • On the north side of NE 200th Street between 25th Avenue NE and the existing sidewalk at Cascade K-8 School 
  • On the north side of NE 200th Street between the existing sidewalk at Cascade K-8 School and the City’s eastern limits near 30th Avenue NE 
  • On the west side of 25th Avenue NE between NE 200th Street and Brugger’s Bog Park. 

Project Location Map

New sidewalk will be built to fill gaps on the north side of NE 200th Street between 25th and 30th Avenues NE. Sidewalk will also be build on the west side of 25th Avenue NE between NE 200th Street and Brugger's Bog Park.

Project Timeline 

  • Preliminary design: February – March 2026 
  • Final design: December 2026 
  • Construction: End of Fall 2027 - estimated construction period of 90 working days. 

Construction impacts 

Construction of this project may require full closure of the NE 200th St and/or intersection of NE 200th St and 25th Ave NE. Traffic control measure will likely include detour signage, one lane closure, temporary construction barricades.  

Driveway tie-ins and temporary construction easements will be needed. If your property fronts the new sidewalks, the City will reach out to you directly early in 2026 with more information.  

We will mail a construction notification postcard to residents within 500 feet of the project before construction begins. 

Tree impacts 

We anticipate that this project may impact up to 15 trees in the ROW and on adjacent private property. We will have more information about tree impacts after arborist review of the project.
