How do I file a Police Report?
If the incident you would like to report took place in the City of Shoreline, please contact the Communications Center(Non-Emergency Line) at 206-296-3311. The Communications Center can be reached 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This is also our dispatch center where you can request an officer be dispatched to your location.

Some incidents may be reported online.

**Please note that Police reports are not accepted via e-mail.

How do I obtain a copy of a Police Report?
All copies of Police Reports are kept in a central location at the King County Records Unit. The Records Unit is located in the King County Courthouse at 516 Third Avenue, Seattle, and can be reached at 206-263-2626. To obtain a record, go to the King County Sheriff's Office public disclosure page and follow the instructions to make a request.

You can also make a written request (which must contain an original signature) and mail to King County Sheriff, 516 Third Avenue, Room W150, Seattle, WA 98104. Please include the case number and/or date and time of incident, along with a self-addressed stamped envelope. Allow two weeks for the Records Unit to receive a copy of your report.

How do I request an Accident Report?

If you were involved in an accident you can request the Traffic Collision Report from the Washington State Patrol.

If you are seeking a copy of an accident report that contains investigative records- or any other case related documents (incident reports, statements, 911 calls, photos, etc.), you may make your request online at the King County Sheriff website.

Fill out a Traffic Complaint form available on this website.  This allows us to track complaints to ensure each complaint gets proper attention and resolution.

Fingerprinting services are currently suspended.

Shoreline Police are processing Concealed Pistol License Applications on an appointment-only basis.  Appointments will be taken only for Shoreline and Kenmore residents.  Please call 206-801-2710 for an appointment.  

How do I report an abandoned/unauthorized vehicle?

Submit an online report form or a service request via the SeeClickFix app.

The Code Enforcement and Customer Response Team (CECRT) will take the information and begin the process of tagging the vehicle. Information may be referred to Shoreline Police for any necessary follow-up. Please keep in mind that it may take seven to 14 days for the vehicle to be tagged and towed.

What are false alarm fines?
In accordance with City of Shoreline Ordinance No. 9.20.050 False alarm - Civil penalty:  A. Any person or business, through error, omission or mechanical/electrical failure that causes two or more false alarms in any consecutive six-month period commits a civil infraction punishable by a maximum penalty and default amount of $50.00, not including statutory assessments. The penalty and default amount for the third and successive false alarms is $75.00, not including statutory assessments. Any succeeding false alarms as a result of failure to take the necessary corrective action or any nonpayment of any false alarm charges, or both, may result in the Chief of Police ordering the disconnection of the alarm until either the corrective action is taken or any outstanding charges are paid, or both, or ordering no response to future alarms.

How do I file a complaint?
You may file a complaint in person, by phone, by email, or by mail. A form is available at each Sheriff's Office location and on the King County Sheriff's Office web site. You may also submit your complaint to the Shoreline police chief, a supervisor, or a City official.

Who will investigate my complaint? 
The Internal Investigation Unit will assign an investigator and give you his or her number. You can call this person if you have questions or concerns.

What happens after I file a complaint?
The investigator will ask you to give a statement in person or by telephone. In most cases, the statement will be recorded.

You may be asked if you know the name of the employee(s) involved. You may also be asked:

• to describe what happened;
• to provide the names of potential witnesses;
• to allow us to photograph any injuries or property damage; and
• to consent to the release of medical records that are associated with your complaint.
