Updated July 2026
Overview
The City of Shoreline is updating its Town Center Plan to shape a future Town Center that feels welcoming, vibrant, and easy to get around. The updated plan will build on community input, hands‑on demonstrations, and best practices in placemaking to create a place where people want to arrive, spend time, and return.
What This Project Will Do
The Town Center Plan Update will focus on a few key areas:
Update the Town Center Plan
The project will refresh the existing Town Center Plan by exploring how the area can evolve to better support community life, access, and a stronger sense of place.
Highlight the Town Center’s Potential as a Community Gathering Place
The plan update will bring new attention to the Town Center’s possibilities as a welcoming destination. It will explore placemaking opportunities, including how public spaces could support gathering, activities, and a stronger Town Center identity.
Provide Street Design Options for Firlands Way and Midvale Avenue
As part of the planning work, the project will consider a range of potential street design concepts for Firlands Way and Midvale Avenue. These concepts are intended to illustrate what might be possible in the future and help inform long‑term decision‑making.
Identify Multi‑Modal Connectivity Opportunities
The update will look at how people move to and through the Town Center, whether by walking, biking, transit, or other modes. It will identify opportunities that could improve connectivity over time, including concepts for safer crossings and better links between key destinations.
How to Get Involved
Throughout the project, there will be many opportunities to participate such as pop-up events, interactive demonstrations, surveys, and community workshops.
