Now Open: Schedule Your Soak It Up Site Visit!
The City offers rebates to help you soak up rainwater with beautiful, resilient gardens that support our community and environment. Schedule a site visit to see if you qualify!
The Soak It Up Program provides rebates of up to $5,600 for homeowners and up to $14,000 for schools, businesses, faith-based organizations, and other large properties to install rain gardens and native landscapes. These gardens soak up rainwater close to where it lands, which protects local waters, wildlife, and fisheries. These gardens also help increase tree canopy in Shoreline, support pollinators, fight climate change, and create attractive, low-maintenance landscapes.

This year, site visits will take place between September 1 and November 25, 2026. Site visits are required to apply for a rebate. Be sure to schedule yours before slots fill up!
For those who would like assistance selecting plants, creating a garden design, and finalizing application materials, we will have free workshops in November and January to help you! During these workshops, you'll receive 1:1 support to create your dream garden and put together a competitive application.
