The City is pleased to share an update on our progress in reaching our Climate Action Plan goals. This third Year in Review shows what City Council, City staff, and the Shoreline community did in 2025 to make progress toward our goals to reduce emissions, support ecosystem health, and increase resilience to climate change across five focus areas: 

• Transportation and mobility 
• Buildings and energy 
• Zero waste 
• Healthy ecosystems 
• Community resilience 

Highlights of our 2025 progress include: 

• Expanding Energize Shoreline, a home electrification program 
• Increasing composting at multifamily properties through incentives and education 
• Helping community members plant and care for trees at their homes through our Communi-trees program 
• Launching Pedal Foward Shoreline, an electric bike distribution program that helped residents reduce how often they use their cars
