198th Affordable Housing Update and Open House

Brief presentation at 6:45 p.m.

It has been a quiet, but busy, winter for Catholic Housing Services (CHS) and Community Psychiatric Clinic (CPC), who are developing an affordable housing project on City-owned land at N 198th Street and Aurora Avenue N. The last piece of their funding puzzle fell into place in late February. The Washington State Housing Finance Commission selected the 198th project for funding through its Low-Income Housing Tax Credit Program.

The project team will host an open house to update the community on the 100-unit housing project, answer questions, and ask for feedback on some high-visibility design elements. The 198th Affordable Housing Project will serve individuals who are homeless or at risk of being homeless. CHS and CPC bring a combined 160 years of experience developing and managing affordable housing projects and providing behavioral health services. Residents living in the apartment complex will be connected to supportive services, helping them in their effort to maintain stable housing.
