Recology provides curbside collection of solid waste and recycling for Shoreline residents, businesses, and multi-family properties. Every-other-week recycling service is included with garbage service for all customers. Weekly food scraps/yard waste collection is included with garbage service for all single-family customers.
If your garbage, yard waste, or recycling has not been collected on your designated day, please call Recology within 24 hours of the missed collection, and your missed waste will be collected on the next business day, if your cart is left at the curb.
Report a Missed Collection online or by calling (206) 763-4444.
If extreme weather conditions make it unsafe for Recology to collect at your curb, Recology will try to collect on your next regular service day (usually the next week). At that time, they will pick-up, at no extra charge, materials equal to what would have been collected on the missed collection day(s).
Check the Recology website for weather-related service updates.
Windy Weather Warning
Heavy winds and bad weather may topple your solid waste carts. Recology drivers will always return your carts to the curb upright after collection. To avoid damaged or toppled carts, please remove your cart from the curb as soon as possible after collection. We also recommend writing your address on your carts to help our drivers to identify carts that have tipped over in windy weather.
