The City's overall Human Services strategy is to engage citizens, organizations and agencies in ways that expand availability and access Shoreline residents have to services. This is done through direct funding, the creation of partnerships and planning/advocacy. All of the City's activities are designed to achieve one or more 15 specific outcomes.

The City of Shoreline contracts with local human service providers to help meet the needs of Shoreline residents. The City allocates both City General Funds and federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to agencies on a two year funding cycle. In addition, there are CDBG funds for capital projects available on a yearly basis.
