After years of planning and construction, the final improvements along the Aurora Corridor were completed in 2017.  Project features include:

  • Improved sidewalks
  • Business access and transit (BAT) lanes
  • Underground utilities
  • New and natural stormwater
  • New signals
  • Lighting
  • Landscaped median with left- and U-turn pockets

The total cost was about $140 million (including construction of two pedestrian/bicycle bridges over Aurora Avenue which are part of the interurban Trail).  Over 80% was funded by federal, state, and county dollars.
