As of December 2019
Construction reached substantial completion at the end of October. The project is now in the close-out phase. A final inspection will be conducted. If there are no deficiencies determined during this inspection, final acceptance and physical completion will be set.
Overview and History
As part of the City's pavement preservation program, this project will provide pavement rehabilitation along NE 175th Street between I-5 and 15th Avenue NE. The primary goal is to improve the condition of the pavement by resurfacing it with an asphalt overlay and rebuilding curb ramps, sidewalks, and driveways for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Following the September 2018 Open House, staff reviewed the feedback received and conducted a technical analysis of the corridor and the proposed rechannelization. Based on a combination of factors, the city has decided not to re-channelize the corridor between 5th Avenue NE and 15th Avenue NE to the proposed three lanes.
Modifications are planned at the intersection of 15th Avenue NE and NE 175th Street, providing an additional eastbound right-turn lane. This modification will significantly improve the operation of the intersection, reduce existing delays, and decrease queues extending from the intersection.
