NE 175th Street Pavement Preservation Project Map

Following the September open house, the City reviewed the feedback and conducted a technical analysis of the corridor and the proposed re-channelization of the corridor. Based on a combination of factors, the City has decided not to re-channelize the corridor to 3 lanes as originally proposed.

Modifications are planned at the intersection of 15th Avenue NE and NE 175th Street, providing an additional eastbound right turn lane. This modification will significantly improve the operation of the intersection, reduce existing delays, and decrease queues extending from the intersection. Staff is working to achieve this modification in conjunction with the pavement preservation project, however this modification requires additional coordination with the development project located on the SW corner of the intersection.

The pavement preservation project is scheduled to bid for construction in January 2019 with construction starting in late Spring. Additional information on construction schedules will be provided as it becomes available.

Overview and History

As part of the City's pavement preservation program, this project will provide pavement rehabilitation along NE 175th Street between I-5 and 15th Avenue NE. The primary goal is to improve the condition of the pavement by resurfacing it with an asphalt overlay and rebuilding curb ramps, sidewalks, and driveways for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
