On June 10, 2019, City Council approved a contract with Reid Middleton to begin design of the project. Survey, geotechnical investigation, arborist reports have been completed and the initial plan set has been submitted to the City for review. Design is scheduled to be completed December 1st, with construction scheduled for early 2020 and expected to go through until the fall of 2020.

Overview and History

As part of the City's pavement preservation program, this project will provide pavement rehabilitation along 15th Avenue NE between NE 155th Street and NE 160th Street. The existing asphalt roadway will be milled down and resurfaced with asphalt overlay. In addition to work in the roadway, sidewalk repairs, curb ramp upgrades, and pedestrian push buttons modifications will be completed to meet the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. In addition, sidewalks and driveways on the west side of the street will be re-built to more closely match current standards and improve pedestrian safety and mobility. The area east of the curb line will not be impacted.
