Jesse Salomon

Jesse Salomon was elected to the Shoreline City Council in 2011 and 2015. His term expires December 31, 2019.

Biography

Jesse grew up in King County, earned his B.A. at Western Washington University in 1999 and his law degree at the University of Washington in 2002.

After graduating, Jesse served as a prosecutor for the Lummi Nation in Whatcom County. He protected children by removing them from abusive homes and protected survivors of domestic violence. He also co-founded and served on the board of Peace for the Streets by Kids from the Streets, which helps youth in King County to get off the streets and find employment.

Jesse currently works as a Public Defender in Seattle Municipal Court. He is an experienced trial attorney but has spent much of this time in alternative disposition courts, where he helps homeless and substance abusing clients to get back on track with their lives.

Before his election Jesse served on the board of the Ridgecrest Neighborhood Association and represented them at the Shoreline Council of Neighborhoods. He has also been active in the Shoreline Chamber of Commerce.

Jesse owns a home in the Ridgecrest neighborhood, where he lives with his wife Sarah and their rescued dog Wishbone, who they admittedly spoil from time to time. In his off-time Jesse enjoys hiking, snowboarding, sport fishing, international vacations along roads less traveled, and reading non-fiction books on history and politics.
