Keith was elected to the City Council in 2005, 2009, 2013 and 2017, and served as Mayor from 2010 to 2013. His term expires December 31, 2021.
Keith has been part of the Shoreline business community for over 26 years. His business, James Alan Salon, was selected as Washington CEO magazine’s “Best Small Company to Work For” in 2003 and 2005.
Councilmember McGlashan has served as co-president of the Shoreline Public Schools Foundation and president of the Shoreline Community College Cosmetology Advisory Board. He was a founding director of Forward Shoreline, executive board director of Northshore/Shoreline Community Network and a member of the board of directors of the Shoreline Chamber of Commerce.
Since becoming a councilmember he has represented Shoreline regionally as an alternate on the SeaShore Transportation Forum and as a member of the governing board for the King County Ten Year Plan to End Homelessness.
Nationally, he represents Shoreline as a member of the steering committee for the National League of Cities, Community and Economic Development Committee, and as a board member of the Gay, Lesbian, and Bisexual Local Officials Committee (GLBLO).
Keith enjoys spending time with his grandson, visiting with people in the community, riding his motorcycle, traveling and photography.
