checkAll applications must meet minimum submittal requirements. We have prepared checklists to assist in the preparation of a submittal package.

If you have a complex proposal or need assistance in understanding the requirements, staff are available at City Hall to meet with you or by phone at (206) 801-2500.

Certain projects require a formal Pre-Application Meeting prior to permit application submittal. Check with a staff representative to find out if your project needs this type of meeting.

When you have compiled the information identified on the submittal checklist you are ready to submit your application.

Applications are submitted at the permit services center located on the main floor of City Hall, 17500 Midvale Avenue N, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Applications for select simple permits (like plumbing or mechanical) may be submitted electronically by email or fax.

Applications for all permits are processed by representatives in the permit services center regardless of the method of submittal.  Walk-in customers and their applications are processed ahead of all others.  The applications and submittal documents are reviewed for completeness before being accepted for plan review. Note that the appropriate submittal fees must be received with the application.
