Can I release a sky lantern on City of Shoreline property, including at Richmond Beach Saltwater Park?
No. Sky lanterns are not allowed on, or to be launched from, City of Shoreline property. The State of Washington has codified laws regulating sky lantern use. Pursuant to RCW 19.27.031 and WAC 51-54A-003, the 2015 International Fire Code (IFC), with some small modifications, is in effect in all counties and cities in Washington State. (section 308.1.6.3 which states that “(a) person shall not release or cause to be released an untethered sky lanterns.”)

Make sure you have written out your city name correctly and completely.
Online registration does not require a hard copy Liability Waiver as this is done electronically during the online registration process.
If you plan on registering in-person or over the phone, an annual Liability Waiver form will need to be on file with the City prior to registration completion.
Yes. Swim lessons can be registered for online. Go to Program Registration. You can also call (206) 801-2650 #4 to register over the phone or stop by the pool and do it in person.
Click on FORGOT PASSWORD. You will be prompted to enter your email address and then click Submit. The reset password request will be sent to you with a Reset Link that will be active for 24 hours. You will be prompted to enter a New Password, verify Password, then Submit. If you need further assistance, please email or call (206) 801-2600.
Scholarships are available to qualifying City of Shoreline residents for youth and specialized recreation programs. Forms should be returned to Spartan Recreation Center. Call (206) 801-2600 for more information on the scholarship program.
Scholarship and registration forms
Recreation Program Refund Request Deadline
Class fee first day. Program fees may be refunded in full for any reason after the first day of class, as long as the refund is requested prior to the second day of class. Participant must contact the registration desk and make a formal written request. Aquatics programs requests must be made at the pool registration desk. All other recreation program requests must be made at the Spartan Recreation Center registration desk.
Class fee second day. After the second day of class, but prior to the third, requested refunds will be pro-rated per the registration fee paid and the total number of classes.
Class fee third day. Refunds will not be issued after the third day of class, unless an exception is granted. Requests for an exception to this policy must be submitted in writing prior to the fourth class and must be approved by the PRCS Director. The City has sole discretion to decide whether or not to grant this exception.
Single Day Course & or Trip. Refunds may be issued if requested at least seven (7) calendar days prior to (not including) event date.

Example: For a refund for a Saturday Course or Single Day Trip you must withdraw by end of business the prior Saturday.
Summer Camps

Full refunds will be given until the close of business on the first Monday in June.

Refunds requested after close of business the first Monday in June, but prior to seven (7) days before (but not including) the first day of camp, will be subject to a $50 administration fee.

Administrative fee is for each weekly camper registration.

If transferring from one Camp into another the administration fee will be waived during the transfer.

The transfer must be made at the same time as the cancellation.

Transfer can only be made into a camp that has an available spot.

No refunds will be given less than seven (7) days (not including) the first day of camp.

Non-Summer Camps

Full refunds will be given up 14 days prior to the` start (not including the first day) for non- summer camps .

Refunds requested after close of business 14 days prior to start but not including) the first day of camp, will be subject to a $50 administration fee.

Waitlist and Pro-rated Refunds

Waitlist refunds. For those that are on a class waitlist that attend after the start date, requests for refund shall be treated as if the first day of attendance is the first day of class.

Pro-rated refunds. Class fee refunds will not be pro-rated when registering after the start date except for those entering from the waitlist.
Rental and Permit Refund Request Deadlines:
Facility rental cancellation. Rentals cancelled by the Renter seven (7) or more calendar days before the event will be refunded in full. Rentals cancelled by the Renter less than seven (7) days, but before 24 hours prior to the date/time of the reservation, will be issued a 50% refund of the fees already collected or $50, whichever is less. Reservations cancelled 24 hours or less prior to the rental will not receive a refund. Any Security Deposit received associated with this rental will be 100% refunded.
Refund of Security Deposits. The City will inspect the permitted area in the Rental Use Permit after usage to determine if any damage occurred. If damage occurred, the City will assess a cost to fix the damage and retain that amount from the Security Deposit. A Security Deposit may also be retrained if all conditions of the permit are not adhered to or extra on-site staff time is required. Any remainder of the Security Deposit will be refunded. Should not damage occur, all conditions of the permit are met and extra staff time is not required then 100% of the Security Deposit will be refunded.
Park & Open Space Non-Exclusive Use Permit cancellation. Rentals cancelled by the Renter seven (7) or more calendar days before the event will be refunded in full. Rentals cancelled by the Renter less than seven (7) days, but before 24 hours prior to the date/time of the reservation, will be issued a 50% refund of the fees already collected or $50, whichever is less. Reservations cancelled 24 hours or less prior to the rental will not receive a refund. Any Security Deposit received associated with this rental will be 100% refunded.
Concession Permit Cancellation. Concession Permits are non-refundable.

For the most part the City of Shoreline follows the Shoreline School District schedule in regards to inclement weather. However, many programs that start later in the day may take place even though school was cancelled. Make sure to call (206) 801-2600 or check shorelinewa.gov/recreation for updates.
Once an activity has started, it may no longer be available for online registration. You may, however, be able to register in person or by phone if there is room in the class and the instructor has given permission. Call Spartan Recreation Center (206) 801-2600 or the Shoreline Pool (206) 801-2650 #4 to check on late enrollment possibilities or further information. Please note: We cannot prorate the class fee.
If the class/program you want to register for is full, we can add your name to the waitlist. You will be called as openings become available. Payment is taken when you accept a spot and may be pro-rated.

How to request a Picnic Shelter reservation:
- Login or create an account.
- Use the search menu below and select ‘Picnic Shelter’ from Facility drop-down menu.
- Click the ‘REQUEST’ button to the right of the shelter/time you wish to request.
- Click ‘ADD TO CART’
- Review summary and click ‘CHECK OUT’
- You will be contacted regarding the status of your request within two (2) business days. Upon request approval, reservations must be confirmed with payment within five (5) days or the request will be cancelled.

The City of Shoreline has a donor bench and table program which allows the purchase of a bench or refurbishment of an existing picnic table in specific spots in parks. For more information on availability and pricing please visit our Donor Bench Program page.Yes, if you have the approved permits.
- If you are charging money for the class then you would need to apply for and receive, a Concession Application and Permit form. (FORM HERE)
- If you are not charging for the class (i.e. taking donations or it is free) yet want to use a part of a park that is not rentable you would need to apply for and receive, a Park and Open Space Non-Exclusive Use Permit.
(FORM HERE) - If you are not charging for the class yet want to use a rentable park facility (i.e. picnic shelters) you will need to rent that facility. You can check availability of shelters and make requests for reservations on the Picnic Shelter Rental tab.

Paintball and airsoft guns are not allowed in the parks per Shoreline Municipal Code 8.12.490.
No, at this time it is not legal to spread loved ones ashes on City property.
Amplified music is only allowed with a permit in City of Shoreline parks. Amplified music would be designated in a rental permit if you are renting a facility, or a Park and Open Space Non-Exclusive Use Permit if the space you are using is not rentable. (FORM HERE)

The City of Shoreline offers dog owners two (2) year round dog parks, with the addition of one (1) seasonal option (Nov 1-Mar 15).

Only in the fire ring at the Lower Richmond Beach picnic shelter. Priority use the of fire ring is for those who rented the lower picnic shelter.
