Explore neighborhoods, parks and trails on some of the best walking routes in our City. Designed for adults ages 50+ but open to all ages and abilities, each walk is led by a Volunteer Walk Leader and all walks are free.

Ridgecrest and Northcrest Parks Walk

Join us for a springtime walk around the Ridgecrest Neighborhood and visit two of the areas less visible parks. Rain or shine we’ll meet at the Crest Theater – if it’s raining, bring your umbrella.
Walk is approximately 2 miles / 1 hr.

Boeing Creek Interpretive Plant Walk

Join us on a hearty walk learning about the various plant species that grow throughout the wooded trails of Boeing Creek Park. Wear sturdy hiking shoes, trails are uneven and rugged. Kids (with parents) and teens are encouraged to attend this walk. Parental waiver required for youth under 18. No bathroom available on this walk.

Parkwood and Twin Ponds Walk
Explore the Parkwood Neigborhood starting at Joann Fabrics, the interurban trail, some neighborhood public and and lately Twin Ponds Park and Community Gardens.

Hamlin Park Trails Walk

Take a morning stroll in the woods. Hamlin is one of the oldest parks in Shoreline and a wonderful place to take a forested trail walk without having to drive to the mountains. Rain or Shine.

Richmond Beach Parks & Garage Sale Walk

Visit the 4 parks in Richmond Beach while enjoying views of the mountains and the sound. We’ll make a few stops at some garage sales that look good on the way (as part of the annual Richmond Beach Garage Sale). This walk is rated difficult for the hills, but we’ll make a lot of stops so plan for a 3 hour walk.

Walk through Fircrest, Hamlin Park, Shorecrest, and South Woods Park. Visit the memory garden and the chapel at Fircrest. Rated Moderate. Several wooded trails in Hamlin Park and four staircases at Fircrest. Meet at the Eastside offleash dog park on 20th Ave. NE.

North City Loop Walk

Enjoy a pleasant “after dinner” walk around the North City Neighborhood. Meet at North City Elementary School and we’ll make a 2 mile loop by the North City Park, over the 195th pedestrian-only I-5 bridge and Shoreline Park.

Echo Lake Neighborhood Walk + The Shoreline Arts Festival

This morning walk will start at the Shoreline Center Tennis Courts and loop in the Echo Lake neighborhood, ending back at the Shoreline Center just in time for a stroll through The Shoreline Arts Festival which starts at 10am. The Festival is a FREE community event with creative and fun options for all tastes. There are Arts Exhibits, Youth Art, Artist Marketplace, Cultural rooms, Hands-on Art, Performances, Food Court, and various activities of all kinds.

Shoreline Community College Walk
Circuit around Shoreline Community College campus including overlook point and some wooded parts Shoreview Park. We’ll start and finish in the upper parking lot of the Sears at Aurora Square. After we’ll have a chance to visit the Shoreline Farmer Market which takes place every Saturday in the Aurora Square parking lot.

Jackson Park Golf Course is just south of Shoreline. Join walk leader Donna Eggen on a hearty walk that is sure to give you a good workout along the 2.25 mile perimeter trail that surround the course. Rated moderate-difficult because of some steep areas and stairs along the walk.

Brugger’s Bog Walk

This walk meet’s in front of the Ballinger Thriftway and walks through Brugger's Bog Park, the site of the old Kellogg Middle School, and Terrace Ridge Park. We’ll also wind through the northeast corner of Shoreline and returns through southern Mountlake Terrace.
Walk is approximately 2.8 miles / 1.5hrs.

Loop from Shoreline Center around the Ballinger Commons ponds. Rated easy to moderate for walking on uneven terrain around the ponds and on short pathways on the nature trail. Meet in the north parking lot of Shoreline Center, next to the soccer fields.

Meet at the Hamlin Park east parking lot at 25th NE and 160th. Stroll through Hamlin Park, Shorecrest, and South Woods Park. Take in the beautiful landscape of Acacia Memorial Park. On the way see three Shoreline schools: Shorecrest High School, Kellogg Middle School, and Briarcrest Elementary School.
