Explore neighborhoods, parks and trails on some of the best walking routes in our City. Designed for adults ages 50+ but open to all ages and abilities, each walk is led by a Volunteer Walk Leader and all walks are free.

Saturday, August 25th, 2018 10:00am
Brugger’s Bog Walk

This walk meet’s in front of the Ballinger Thriftway and walks through Brugger's Bog Park, the site of the old Kellogg Middle School, and Terrace Ridge Park. We’ll also wind through the northeast corner of Shoreline and returns through southern Mountlake Terrace.
Walk is approximately 2.8 miles / 1.5hrs.
Walk Rating: Moderate (steep hills and wet grass)

Thursday, September 6th, 2018 A) 5-6pm, and/or B) 6-7:15pm
Boeing Creek Interpretive Plant Walk
This is a two part walk, you can participate on one or both of the walks depending on your ability level and interest. Open to all ages, with youth encouraged to participate. Parent signature required for waiver. No bathroom on site. Walk Leader: Ginger

Plant Walk A : 5:00-6:00pm
A gentle pace with lots of stops to share about plants.
Walk is approximately 3/4 miles / 1 hour
Walk Rating: Easy (with some slopes and uneven ground, very little elevation change)
Meet at: Boeing Creek Park Entrance on NW 175th St. (between 6th Ave & 3rd Ave NW) (park on road) Note: location may not be as easy to find as it sounds, map ahead or allow extra time.

Plant Walk B : 6:00-7:15pm
We traverse up and down the wooded ravine trails of Boeing Creek Park. Wear sturdy hiking shoes, trails are uneven and rugged. Stream side trails and crossings are unpredictable. Wet feet are a possibility. The far reach of this WALK is a Native Plant Restoration Site in progress.
Walk is approximately 2 miles / 1.25 hours
Walk Rating: Difficult (uneven ground, elevation changes, slippery when wet, loose soil in places)

Jackson Park Perimeter Trail Walk

Jackson Park Golf Course is just south of Shoreline. Enjoy a hearty walk that is sure to give you a good workout along the 2.25 mile perimeter trail that surround the course. Rated moderate-difficult because of some steep areas and stairs along the walk.
Walk is approximately 2.25 miles / 2.5hrs.
Walk Rating: Moderate-Difficult (stairs & hills)

Ballinger Commons Pond Walk

Loop from Shoreline Center around the Ballinger Commons ponds. Rated easy to moderate for walking on uneven terrain around the ponds and on short pathways on the nature trail. Meet in the north parking lot of Shoreline Center, next to the soccer fields.
Walk is approximately 2.7 miles / 1.5hrs.
Walk Rating: Moderately Easy

Acacia and South Woods Park

Meet at the Hamlin Park east parking lot at 25th NE and 160th. Stroll through Hamlin Park, Shorecrest, and South Woods Park. Take in the beautiful landscape of Acacia Memorial Park. On the way see three Shoreline schools: Shorecrest High School, Kellogg Middle School, and Briarcrest Elementary School.
Walk is approximately 3.2 miles / 1.5hrs.
Walk Rating: Moderately Easy
Meet at: Hamlin Park, East Parking Lot, 25th Ave NE & NE 160th St.

Let’s meet at Hillwood Park and take a loop through the neighborhood including Einstein Middle School campus and Crista.
