Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

Explore neighborhoods, parks and trails on some of the best walking routes in our City. Designed for adults ages 50+ but open to all ages and abilities, each walk is led by a Volunteer Walk Leader and all walks are free. No need to sign up, just show up at the meetup location and we'll take care of the rest!  Friendly dogs on a leash are welcome to join.

2020 Walk Leaders Wanted

We are seeking new volunteer walk leaders to join our Shoreline Walks team. Walks run from April - November. If you know of great walking routes around our city and would like to lead a group walk, please contact Marianne Johnson, Recreation Specialist at mjohnson@shorelinewa.gov, (206) 801-2638.

Fit Together Shoreline Opening “Walkie Talkie”

Join us at the opening “Walkie Talkie”, part of Shoreline’s newest wellness event Fit Together Shoreline. Learn how to participate in the free all ages/abilities event (and win prizes!). We’ll talk a little then take a nice 2-3 mile walk around the park and neighborhood. Fit Together Shoreline is a free all ages/abilities event. Echo Lake Walk & Native Plant Garden

Meet by Echo Lake School Native Plant Garden. Come early if you would like to tour the garden. Our route will take us though several parks, along a bit of the Interurban Trail, and through neighborhoods with trees newly in leaf and flowers in bloom.

Fit Together Shoreline “Walkie Talkie”

Join us on a “Walkie Talkie”, part of Shoreline’s newest wellness event Fit Together Shoreline. We’ll discuss our wellness goals, draw inspiration from eachother and anyone who wants a workout can join the group in some stair climbing and walking around Richmond Beach Saltwater Park. Enjoy a walk around the Richmond Beach Neighborhood visiting various gardens as part of the annual self-guided Richmond Beach Garden Tour. We’ll meet at the entrance to Richmond Beach Saltwater Park and pick out some gardens along the tour route to checkout!

Fit Together Closing Potluck BBQ and Awards

Join us at our closing event for Fit Together Shoreline. Share your fitness and wellness success stories with others and enjoy some food out at the park. Briarcrest and Acacia Walk

Stroll through Hamlin Park, Shorecrest, and South Woods Park. Take in the beautiful landscape of Acacia Memorial Park. On the way see three Shoreline schools: Shorecrest High School, Kellogg Middle School, and Briarcrest Elementary School.

Ridgecrest Walk

Take a Sunday morning walk with around the Ridgecrest Neighborhood. We’ll meet at the Crest Theater and explore the streets connecting the business district with Paramount School Park, Hamlin Park and Northcrest Park. Rain or shine we’ll meet at the Crest Theater – if it’s raining, bring your umbrella.

We’re exploring the area between Westminster Way and Aurora Ave, heading west on 145th St and walking the loop trail through Llandover woods.

Meridian Park Walk

Points along the way include the Children’s Center, the small Meridian Park itself, the Jewish Cemetery, Shorewood High School, and Shoreline City Hall. At end of walk there will be an option to check out the improvements to Ronald Bog Park which is across from the school.

Hamlin Park Orienteering

Learn about Orienteering as we locate all 19 orienteering controls in Hamlin Park. Use your handheld GPS unit or GPS-capable phone. Or just come along for a fun walk around Hamlin Park. Walk leader will provide map and directions. Meet at the picnic shelters near the Hamlin Park inner parking lot. Restrooms available at start of walk.

Hamlin Park Trails Walk

Take a morning stroll in the woods. Hamlin is one of the oldest parks in Shoreline and a wonderful place to take a forested trail walk without having to drive to the mountains. Rain or Shine.

Come take an easy morning walk and then visit the Puget Sound Dahlia Show at Sky Nursery. We’ll walk from Sky Nursery through neighborhoods to King’s Garden and then back via the interurban trail. Dahlia Show is Free.

Brugger’s Bog & NE Shoreline Walk

Walk through Brugger's Bog Park, the site of the old Kellogg Middle School, and Terrace Ridge Park. The walk winds through the far northeast corner of Shoreline and returns through southern Mountlake Terrace.

Walk Rating: Moderate (couple steep trails)

North City Loop Walk

Explore the North City neighborhood taking a look at some of the more interesting and historical areas that we often don’t notice while we are in our cars.

Walk 2.9 miles along part of the Interurban Trail, through the Parkwood neighborhood including the shiny new Parkwood School, and through Twin Ponds and the Community Garden.

Walk around the Richmond Beach neighborhood including the Richmond Reserve and the Strandberg Preserve.
