2017-2023 Parks, Recreation & Open Space Plan [pdf]

On July 31, 2017 the City Council unanimously approved the 2017-2023 Parks, Recreation and Open Space (PROS)Plan. This update to Shoreline’s Plan for parks, recreation and cultural services began in January 2016 and represents a culmination of community-generated ideas for the future. The Plan is centered on the theme:

“Securing our Foundation, Shaping our Future,” defined as -

  • Securing our Foundation - Take care of what we already have and make current facilities work for us.
  • Shaping our Future - Provide for growth through smart development and targeted acquisition.

Thank you to the many community members, community partners, local businesses and non profit agencies that contributed to the formation of this aspirational yet achievable Plan for the future of parks, recreation and cultural services in Shoreline.

The adoption of the update to Shoreline’s Plan for Parks, Recreation and Open Space will amend the Shoreline Comprehensive Plan’s Parks and Open Space Element and the Capital Facilities Element. For more information about the Shoreline Comprehensive Plan, please visit shorelinewa.gov/compplan.
