Bridges, banners and bronze! Public Art in the City of Shoreline Bridges, banners and bronze! In 2002 the Shoreline City Council adopted a 1% for Public Art Ordinance to ensure a means of expanding awareness and appreciation of art and cultural heritage, and enhancing the enjoyment of public places in the City of Shoreline. The City allocates 1% of the municipal capital construction dollars expended for structures, roads, sidewalks, trails, and parks to a special Public Art Fund for use on site, or pooled to create art opportunities in other locations over time.
