New summer camp payment options
Pay for camp in three monthly payments!
We recently made changes to our summer camp registration process to make it more equitable. Instead of having to pay for camps in full at the time of registration, people can now make payments over a three-month period.
Providing equitable access to City programs and services is a priority for us. Unfortunately, some of our current policies do not create equitable outcomes. One such policy impacts who gets to partake in one of our most popular programs – summer camps. Prior to changing our policy, 100% of the summer camp fee was required at the time of registration. Requiring payment in full at the time of summer camp registration creates an obstacle for many families. Since summer camps fill quickly, those who have the financial resources to pay in full at the time of registration have a clear advantage over those who do not.
The new process requires a non-refundable deposit for each registration at the time of registration, with three subsequent payments to be made over a three-month period. Extending the payment time allows people who do not have the full payment amount available in March to still register before camps fill up.
