The Shoreline Pool needs swim meet volunteers
Volunteering at a swim meet is a great opportunity to earn community service hours, see the swim meet up close, and support the swim community in Shoreline! No previous experience is necessary.
- Saturday, July 6 - 2:45 pm - 7:00 pm (vs. Mountlake Terrace)
- Saturday, July 20 - 2:45 pm -7:00 pm (vs. Edmonds)
- Saturday, July 27 - 2:45 pm - 7:00 pm (vs. Snohomish Aquatic Center)
Gator Beads - Give a Gator bead necklace to each heat winner.
Card Runner - Take the completed cards from the timers and bring them to the persons entering times into the computer after each event.
Head Timer – This person holds two extra stop watches and starts both at the beginning of each race. If one of the Timers has a problem with their watch or misses the start, they raise their hand. The Head Timer gives that Timer a watch to finish that race. This job requires the ability to stand and focus attention on the meet.
Timer - No previous experience required; should be at least 14 years old, able to pay continuous attention to lane activity and precisely handle a stop watch. Timers keep distractions away from swimmers, check names of lane swimmers, and record times. Timers record stop watch times on the swimmer’s card for each event.
