Work parties keep Shoreline parks healthy and beautiful
Did you know???
Volunteers play an important role in keeping Shoreline's park system healthy and beautiful. Shoreline's Washington Native Plant Stewards, University of Washington Restoration Ecology Network students and Friends of Saltwater Park, and so many other individuals and groups are committed to removing invasive species like ivy, blackberries, and Scotch Broom and replanting our parks with native species that provide food and shelter for birds and animals, restore the understory, and create a safer, more accessible environment for everyone to enjoy.
Volunteers are always needed and the work continues year round. Opportunities are posted on the Community Calendar so check them out and consider offering support to the committed volunteers working near you.
Visit the Volunteer webpage for more opportunities to give back to the community.
