Orca Celebration and Whale Trail Sign Dedication

The Whale Trail is a series of 100 locations across four states and two countries where you can see whales, dolphins, or other marine mammals from shore. Whale Trail sites are in city, county, state, and national parks and tribal lands. The Whale Trail signs provide a simple and convenient way to educate the public of and promote shore based whale watching.

Join the community celebration as we dedicate a new Whale Trail sign at Richmond Beach Saltwater Park in Shoreline, which is a part of many events happening during Orca Action Month.  We'll have refreshments and kids activities - including face painting!

The dedication celebration is free and open to the community.

When: Friday, June 21, 1:00-3:00 pm
Where: Richmond Beach Saltwater Park, Shoreline

June is Orca Action Month!

Orca Action Month is a chance to celebrate one of our region’s most iconic species and to take action for their survival and recovery. There are now just 75 resident orcas left in the Salish Sea. We know that when our orcas are in trouble, so is the Salish Sea.

Orca Action Month will serve up a whole host of family-friendly events throughout the Salish Sea region and beyond that are fun, educational, action-oriented, energy-rich, and that show individuals the actions they can take to support recovery of these magnificent creatures. Hungry for Change is the theme for this year’s Orca Action Month. Like the orcas themselves, we are hungry for change to create a better home for them.
