Richmond Beach Saltwater Park Volunteer Work Party

If you have visited Richmond Beach Saltwater Park over the past couple of years you have probably noticed a restoration effort to remove invasive species like Scotch Broom and blackberries, and restore the area with native plants. Volunteers are needed to help maintain this native habitat that were planted by the University of Washington Restoration Ecology Network. Tasks include watering native plantings and continuing to remove the invasive plants that want to return to the area. Anyone interested in giving back to the community, folks who are interested in habitat restoration, high-school students who want community service hours - everyone is welcome to help make habitat restoration at the park a success!

Youth under the age of 18 must bring a completed Individual Volunteer Service Agreement [pdf] signed by a parent or guardian. Youth under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Snacks, water, and tools will be provided. All you have to do is show up with sturdy shoes/boots. Please dress for the weather, including a hat and sunscreen, and be ready to enjoy the magnificent Puget Sound and Olympic Mountains views.  Meet us in the lower parking lot by the restrooms where you can sign-in and pick up your tools.  We'll also have a brief introduction about the project we'll be doing that day.
